A dragon, a potion, and a little reminder about making things

Hi friends,

This month has looked a little different around here. Instead of being hunched over my desk every spare hour, I've spent a good chunk of it in the kitchen with my daughter, building a dragon puppet out of paper, markers, glue and paint and whatever else we could find in the craft bin, and "brewing potions" out of baking soda, food coloring, and every spice in my cabinet.

Here's the thing I keep noticing: she doesn't ask permission to make something weird. She just grabs the cinnamon and the glitter and goes. No plan, no worrying about whether the dragon's ears are symmetrical, just pure "let's see what happens." I forget how much I edit myself before I even start a new piece, how much of my own process is second-guessing before the pencil even hits the paper. Watching her work reminded me why I fell in love with making things in the first place, long before "archival paper" and "SEO" were even words in my vocabulary.

I've been trying to carry a little bit of that energy back into the studio this month, looser sketches, more "let's see," less second-guessing. It's already showing up in some of the pieces I'm working on.

No more generic mockups. I want you to actually be able to picture it in your space before you commit.
